My Story

My journey began in the vibrant city of Rotterdam, Netherlands, where my passion for understanding the world around me took root. Initially drawn to the disciplines of natural sciences and engineering, my curiosity soon led me down the paths of economic history and philosophy, studying in both Leiden and Paris. These formative years laid the foundation for a career defined by adaptability and a commitment to meaningful impact.

Upon graduating, I joined Heineken as a Management Trainee, embarking on a 17-year journey that offered me great opportunities in diverse roles across commercial functions, general management, and HR. I was able to grow my ability to adapt and to lead, which was instrumental in my success during this period, earning me recognition as a dynamic and results-driven leader.

However, driven by a desire to explore new industries and challenges, I transitioned into the publishing and new media sectors, eventually establishing myself as a highly sought-after change manager, at AWVN, Rabobank and other assignments.

Since these years I have also started building up my experience of supervising general managers in different supervisory board settings, and in different mentoring environments.

In 2006,  I took a pivotal sabbatical, using the time to delve deeply into sustainability, with a focus on the energy and water sectors. This decision marked a turning point in my professional life, steering me toward social and sustainable entrepreneurship. Since 2007, I have worked passionately on energy and food transitions while addressing critical water-related challenges, dedicating myself to creating lasting, positive change.

Building on this foundation, I achieved my certification as an ICF Certified Executive Coach, expanding my ability to guide individuals and organisations toward realising their potential. My services are infused with my lifelong love for music, art, and literature. Drawing inspiration from luminaries and great minds such as Dante, Shakespeare, Goethe, Mozart, and Wagner, I weave cultural richness into my practical guidance, offering a uniquely holistic approach to personal and business growth.

One of the most transformative chapters in my journey has unfolded through my work on water projects, where I collaborate with the Mamos of the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta in Colombia. These encounters with indigenous wisdom have deepened my understanding of humanity’s interconnectedness with nature, shaping my mission to integrate sustainable practices into my work and inspire equitable solutions for global challenges.

Today, I feel dedicated to be a visionary leader, driven by integrity, innovation, and a heartfelt commitment to making a difference. My diverse expertise and compassionate approach aims to serve as a beacon for others, encouraging collaboration and action to create a brighter, more sustainable future for all life.
